It was open on August 11, 1960, to preserve and display the cultural heritage recovered in the archaeological site. The museum exhibits important and interesting objects found in the "Huaca" since 1958 when investigation and excavation started. The findings made possible to recreate the development and history of the site. Objects like mummies, complete bundles, decorative vessels, gourds, weaving objects; music instruments and mommy masks are displayed.
