The Museum of Nature and the Environment offers a wide variety of biological and geological topics: exciting insights into the natural history of the north as well as into the species-rich flora and fauna of the Lübeck region. Unique in Europe are the fossilized whale skeletons originating from Lake Urn. The 14-meter-long skeleton of today's sperm whale can be seen in the Domhof. The exhibition of rocks and boulders invites you on a journey through time through the earthly ages; A replica of a paleontological excavation site contains real fossils for "understanding". The nature experience exhibition "In the realm of the Aquarius" presents habitat representations and interactive media stations on the biotopes and inhabitants of the local rivers and the Bay of Lübeck. Live turtles, grass snakes, fish and a bee colony surprise in the exhibitions. Certified as an "educational institution for sustainability", the Natural History Museum offers a wealth of educational offerings, lectures, seminars, holiday programs, excursions and events.
