Olomouc Art Museum The Olomouc Art Museum (formerly the Gallery of Fine Arts) was founded in 1952 as part of the Museum of Natural History. After 1989, the Art Museum acquired an independent building in the city center. Today it is one of the most important institutions of its kind in the Czech Republic, not only in terms of the number of managed collections (about 200 000), which ranks right behind the National Gallery in Prague, but also in the field of professional photography and exhibition program. Short-term and medium-term exhibitions as well as long-term expositions represent art culture from the earliest times to the present in three buildings: the Archdiocesan Museum of Olomouc, the Museum of Modern Art, the Archdiocesan Museum of Kroměříž.

Today, it is one of the most influential institutions of its kind in the Czech Republic, considering the number of collection items (approximately 200 000), the second after the National Gallery in Prague, but also in the range of its professional activities and exhibition program. With its short-term, medium-term and long-term exhibitions it presents fine arts culture from the early history to the present in three locations: Olomouc Archdiocesan Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Kroměříž Archdiocesan Museum.
