Hundreds of historic sewing machines, accessories and related items provide an exciting journey through technology, tailoring, and the aesthetics of the past 200 years. The exhibition shows the historical and technical development from the end of the 18th century to modern times and gives an overview of the most diverse fields of application.

Some of the exhibits are rare rarities, which are only available as individual pieces or only in a few copies worldwide. In the museum you will meet the Princess of Wales, meet Christopher Columbus, you may look at something indecent, find out why an Opel is hanging on the wall here and much more. We also like to chat out of the closet - without losing the thread.

From simple household models to highly complex special machines - from different countries, from tools to status symbols, from industrial machines to toys - but always a mechanical work of art.
