San Fedele Arte

The Galleria San Fedele was born after the war (1949) the work of Father Arcangelo Favaro. The current seat of the Gallery dates back to 1968, when it inaugurated with an exhibition of American art, with works by Marc Rothko, Franz Kline and Robert Rauschenberg. Since the fifties the Gallery is known not only for having hosted international artists, Lucio Fontana, Marc Chagall, Robert Ryman to Henri Matisse and Mario Sironi, the San Fedele Prize for young artists with the participation of some authors which will become the most representative Italian art as Claudio Parmiggiani, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Franco Vimercati, Enrico della Torre. The Galleria San Fedele is notable for initiatives characterized by the commitment to the promotion of justice, due to a reflection on the themes of political and social life of our time, and exhibit centered on the art / faith relationship whose fundamental question revolves around the meaning Beauty in art of "sacred" contemporary.
