Until the early 1900s, Sickla park was a popular leisure and entertainment area between Nacka municipality and Stockholm city, in the present Södra Hammarbyhamnen. Prior to the construction of the Hammarby Trail and the Danvik Canal, the water in Hammarby Lake was four meters higher than today and the water surface was considerably larger than today. Along the lake were lush beaches. On the south-east side of the lake was Sickla park and in the greenery of the park you could have fun, picnic, play, dance and listen to music. ©Wikipedia/Esquilo
