The Education, Promotion and PR Department conducts educational activities based on two main dominant features: historical and cultural. They distinguish between:

A) MUSEUM'S MUSEUM EDUCATION PROGRAM - a series of activities consistent with the implementation of the statutory mission of the museum and the strategy of the City of Gdańsk, which are part of the cultural, museum, educational and educational activities:

  1. MUSEUMS. This is the most popular point in the entire educational offer, which is carried out by the Historical Museum of the City of Gdańsk. During the lesson, the youngest learns through play. An important role is played by props and teaching aids, whose status is systematically increasing. The most popular classes were pre-school children and so-called. initial teaching (85.3% of all lessons learned). Participants receive simple, clear and comprehensible knowledge through animator, who always plays the role of a historical hero.

  1. WORKING FOR DISABLED PEOPLE. Classes for this type of group are prepared with special attention. Frequent participants in this class are students with motor, intellectual and neurotic disorders (wheelchair children, Down's Syndrome, Childhood Autism, Cerebral Palsy). In 2004, a permanent cooperation with the Team of Special Schools No. 2 in Gdansk-Oliwa was established, which continues today.
  2. VOLUNTEER. In January 2015, a volunteer project was launched

to students of faculties: history of art, pedagogy, history from the University of Gdansk. Students acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of museum pedagogy - they learn about different styles of learning in museums, educational strategies used by museums, depending on the built-in exhibition narrative as well as the advantages and disadvantages of contemporary interactive exhibitions. On the basis of the acquired knowledge they create and develop their own classes addressed to elementary and middle school students.

B) CULTURAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - The aim of the project is to show that Gdansk represents a multicultural European history, and to show children and their parents the way to develop passion and respect for the past. The cycle includes the following tasks:

  1. MALUSZKI IN THE MUSEUM. The program is aimed at children aged 1-3 and their caregivers. Classes are very popular. Their task is to create a natural connection between the museum space and the small man.

  1. HISTORICAL BIRTHDAY. This program is a weekend educational offer addressed to the youngest guests of the Historical Museum of the City of Gdansk, who together with parents and friends want to organize a party.

  1. SOWOTY. The basic element of the program is the activities for children and adults, aimed at social integration. Their name comes from the combination of the words "owl" and "Saturday".

  1. ORGANIZING COMPETITIONS, EVENTS, EDUCATIONAL HAPPENINGS.
