The Creation Room

The Creation Room was the initial idea by local photographer Jody Connaughton who has been running the successful Greystones Art & Photography Exhibition (GRAPE) in Greystones harbour every Sunday (during summer months) for the last five years. Jody thought of other ways to involve art and craft within the area and ran the idea past local designer and event organiser (Creation Station) Julie Meneses. The two took at look at the possibility of an outside weekly market in Greystones but to no avail. Other options were considered, avenues pursued but both felt there was an alternative , more upmarket way to exhibit the level of high talent in the area. Combining their experience & databases of amazing local talented people they decided to make The Creation Room a reality. The Creation Room opened its doors in Fishers of Newtownmountkennedy on 23rd May 2014. It opens Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5:30pm and Sundays and Bank Holidays from 12pm to 6pm. The room comprises of a selected group of local Artists, Crafters and Photographers. All change on a 28 day turnaround. The Creation Room operates on a no commission basis so what you pay to the artist, crafter or photographer goes straight to them unlike how other galleries and facilities operate. This helps them to become established quicker and produce more and more fantastic work at their prices. In October 2016 the second Creation Room opened at 8 Main Street Wicklow Town and has quickly become a favorite with people in the town and surrounding areas. The Creation Room prides itself on offering exceptional local talent at an affordable price. It is fast becoming the place to come and browse for that special gift, be it an anniversary, birthday, just to say thank you or even, just to spoil yourself.
