As the largest theater for children and young people in Europe, THEATER DER JUGEND offers an extensive program at two venues under the artistic direction of Thomas Birkmeir:

With almost 47,000 subscribers, the Theater of Youth is the largest theater for children and young people in Europe, probably the world. Thomas Birkmeir, who has been managing his artistic skills since the 2002/03 season, is working together with his team to create a lively, diverse and innovative theater that focuses on the question of individual maturity. The pieces developed at the two houses (Renaissance Theater and Theater in the Center) have been and are being successfully re-enacted in many countries, so that the Theater of Youth has made its mark far beyond the borders of the city and gained notoriety.
