Void is a contemporary art space with up to 5 exhibitions per year showing the work of established international and Irish artists. Void was founded in 2005 by a group of Derry artists called (DADA) Derry Artists for Derry’s Art. The gallery was situated in the downstairs of The Old City Shirt Factory until 2013 when it moved upstairs to a refurbished space. Void has established an international reputation for its wide-ranging and challenging exhibitions, the 2016-2017 programme features Katrina Palmer and Andres Serrano. Exhibitions are selected by a curatorial panel comprising of Maoliosa Boyle, Gregory McCartney, Jonathan Cummins, Conor McFeely, Orla Ryan, and Dr. Mhairi Sutherland.

Void Engage is the name given to the learning programme which places meaningful engagement at the heart of the gallery. Participative learning programmes are created for every exhibition with the aim of making contemporary art accessible to visitors of all ages, from every community. We deliver a wide range of workshops, talks, film screenings and other events inspired by our exhibitions, both within the gallery and in offsite locations. The vast majority of the programme is free of charge and we invite everyone to take part.
