The company Villa Carpena, associated with the Cia of Forlì-Cesena and with a ten-year activity behind it, is a consolidated reality in the panorama of farms in the Forlì area. The total company surface, between property and rent, exceeds 10 hectares and in the cultivation system there are fruit and vegetable crops (6.45 hectares of orchard, 1.22 hectares of horticultural crops specialized in greenhouses and in open fields) , vineyard and a small rearing of local Romagnolo chickens. The owners, in particular Alfiero Casadei, believe that in a period like the current one, where there are considerable difficulties in maintaining their income, the possibility of expanding and diversifying production offers can be a winning idea in a reality and in the context where the company is located. Multifunctionality - the ability to promote a quality rural environment in an integrated development strategy that enhances the multifunctional role of agriculture - which takes advantage of the opportunities offered to the company by the adjacent Carpena area, being easily reached within a few minutes also from Forlì. These are part of the conditions that should be successful and that will certainly be appreciated by guests who will appreciate, in the catering business, the typical products of the company and / or area. All this was made possible because in the company there was an old rural building that, thanks to important construction works, it was possible to renovate, creating a room with an availability of over 70 seats. And when the season comes, you can also taste strawberries. Yes, "The strawberry place" owes its name to the fact that the company has always produced strawberries and the people, when they came to the farm to buy them, asked if it was "the place for strawberries". The food and wine product and local specialties are assuming an increasingly strong value in the diversification of the rural economy and important in the characterization and definition of an innovative territorial offer but respectful of the typicality and local rural traditions. The Casadei family also has a sales point, where guests can directly buy seasonal products grown in the surrounding fields.
