Castello Masegra

Built in its oldest structures in 1048, the Castle, after its destruction, it was rebuilt at the beginning of the fifteenth century and the military function beside the destination in the residence of De Capitani. Later it was inherited by the Beccaria and the date 1491, the renaissance door to the courtyard to the east, witnesses in all likelihood an almost complete renovation of the building at the time of change of ownership.

During the advent of Grisons in the administration of the territory (Government of the three Leagues in 1512), the entire fortress ended, by marriage, in the hands of a member of grigiona family Salis Soglio (1593) and lost its defensive functions military. Thus accentuates its destination to mansion and in the underground cellar for storing wine. At this time the current entrance on the east side, which gave access to the castle with the carts. The successive changes of ownership dating from the nineteenth century when the castle came into possession of Guicciardi family that, after the annexation of the province of Sondrio Italy, was donated to the State which assigned it for military purposes: first as barracks and later, after World war II of the '900, as the headquarters of the military district (in this period tampering were made and accretions in order to make it easier to use for new purposes that are now partially removed or demolished after restoration by the local Fine Arts).

The abandonment by the last military garrison, at the end of the 90s of the twentieth century, the continuation of the restoration work carried out, even with substantial resources by the municipality of Sondrio, they have highlighted the high architectural quality of the castle and the width of the interior and exterior spaces can be used.
