Centre culturel d'Ottignies LLN

Resulting from the merger between the cultural center and artistic Ottignies (created with the theater in 1976) and the Cultural Foyer (created in 1991), the Cultural Center of Louvain-la-Neuve (CCOLLN) develops since 2000 cultural policy of Louvain-la-Neuve, based on a mandate of trust and broad support of the City of Louvain-la-Neuve. City, under its rich associations, presence on its territory of the Catholic University of Louvain, infrastructure and important cultural operators (Atelier Théâtre Jean Vilar, Museum of Louvain-la-Neuve, Aula Magna, Farm Biéreau, Cinescope and soon the Hergé Museum), actively assume its role as "cultural center of Walloon Brabant."

In this context, the mission continues CCOLLN a cultural center approved by the French Community of Belgium (artistic creation, cultural diffusion, continuing education, information and support services to associations, co-ordination), with a view to radiation and attraction of a cultural center with a size of more and more international. In this sense, if the territory of its action the wife of the city, the quality of the program also attracts a regional audience. Recurrent organization of flagship events (Biennial of Contemporary Art, African Night, international shows etc.) gives it an attraction - and hence public - national and international.

The CCOLLN encourages participation, cooperation and partnership of all stakeholders of the cultural center.

The participation of private actors (associations and citizens), meeting in the thematic commissions and dynamics of the Cultural Council, is crucial in the search for meaning and projects, in attention to all audiences, in the development of social bonds and fight against cultural exclusion.

Cooperation with cultural operators from Louvain-la-Neuve (ATJV, Museum of Louvain-la-Neuve, Aula Magna, UCL Culture, Farm Biéreau, Space Garage, House Youth, etc.) guarantees the diversity of expressions artistic current like so many reflections of realities. The cooperation stimulates and coordinates quality cultural offer for the public, while rationalizing the use of equipment and pooling risks.

Finally, partnerships with provincial operators (CCBW, Province of Walloon Brabant, CRIBW), community (CDWEJ, AssProPro, ACC, etc.), national and international not only of information and exchange of ideas, but also the circulation and export of resident artists and cultural products.

Some figures: annual budget of 1.5 million euro, 19 employees, 100 projects per year over 80 performances of 40 different shows for all audiences, participatory projects (Transhumance, Winter Salon etc.) a reciprocal exchange network of knowledge, exhibitions, Halloween, African Night, The Biennale of Contemporary Art ...
