Taking a boat, you will have the opportunity to go through centenary hydraulic lifts! Together with the canal itself, these UNESCO-protected lifts are a direct heritage from industrial landscapes of the 19th century. These works are seen as exceptional engineering structures, and were required for transporting goods at a time when the coal industry was fueling local economy.
