The Erich Kästner Museum successfully practices a novel museum concept: the world's first "mobile interactive micromuseum" is a piece of architecture, a work of art in its own right and a commodity that reflects the diverse personality and work of the world-famous author, cabaret artist, journalist and media man Erich Kästner. The initiator and architect Ruairí O'Brien designed the "walk-in treasure chest" in 1999, a house-in-house that combines tradition and modernity and combines museum contents to touch with new media technology. Visitors of all generations and cultures can playfully and independently explore the complex Kästner world.
