Galería Elvira González

The Elvira González Gallery opens its doors in February 1994. Founded by Elvira Gonzalez, who was director of the Theo Gallery for 30 years, specializes in art of the twentieth and twenty-first century, especially in European and American art of the second half of the century XX and the work of contemporary artists.

Elvira González has made some exhibitions that have had great impact and impact on the history of the galleries of Spain. Samples as Rothko in 1995, Picasso and Women in 1996, 7,000 years of modern sculpture. A permantente Aesthetics in 1997, Calder / Tanguy in 1999, Minimal Art in 2003, or Donald Judd, progressions from 1960 to 1970 in 2009 have positioned the Gallery as one of the most important in Europe.

With the addition of the children of Elvira González as directors, artists like Uta Barth new, Waltercio Caldas, Olafur Eliasson, Robert Irwin and Robert Mapplethorpe have become part of the Gallery.

The Gallery collaborates with museums and cultural institutions of the first order, and advises on the creation of private and institutional collections. In addition to exhibitions that are performed the gallery has a large collection of works by established artists of the twentieth century art.
