We are very proud to be a privately owned, self-contained hotel, housed in a property dating from the 17th century. With the risk of fire, the wooden house was demolished in the mid-18th century and after that, the palace-like house was built today.

The house was home to the 1920s for the family Bielke, Count Carl Gustaf Piper and Count and Chamberlain Axel Wachtmeister. In 1928 Jacobson & Ponsbach, Fund Commission and Banking, rises into the lower floor to finally take over the ownership of the entire property in 1972. In modern times, Swedish Exportkredit has held its seat in the property.

After a comprehensive and very careful renovation, Hotel Kungsträdgården moved into the charming property. The lounge where elegant private parties are held are available and 98 individually decorated rooms in classic Gustavian style and a spectacular courtyard with one of the largest crystal crowns you have seen have been added.

In the courtyard, Brasserie Makalös, who retrieved the name from Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie's castle-like palace, lay all around the corner and burned down in the early 19th century. The brasserie is run by warrior Yohan Adell who worked in France for most of his working hours.

A brasserie is a restaurant that stays open almost 24 hours, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu consists of classic French dishes such as Boeuf Bourguignon and the wine list is entirely French.

Warmly welcome a drink at the bar, a meal in the brasserie and stay for as many nights as you wish.
