Amsterdam’s institute of Asian cuisine IZAKAYA expanded its brand further throughout Germany. IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar breaks new ground in Munich’s food scene. The creative brains behind IZAKAYA are renowned hospitality entrepreneurs Yossi Eliyahoo and Liran Wizman, owners and founders of the Amsterdam-based THE ENTOURAGE GROUP, and the group’s managing director, Stephanie Pearson. The unique shared-dining menu offers modern Japanese cuisine with South American influences to the Bavarian capital - flawlessly prepared by the team of Executive Chef Hariprasad Shetty. IZAKAYA Munich is the fourth IZAKAYA restaurant in Europe, situated in the new hotel Roomers by Alex Urseanu and Micky Rosen of the Frankfurt based Gekko Group.

At IZAKAYA, authentic elements are given a contemporary twist when combined with creative technics. Not just on the menu but throughout the concept as a whole. The essence of IZAKAYA; authentic yet never traditional. And so it is at IZAKAYA Munich. The restaurant, located on the ground floor of the new Roomers, caters to the curious traveller.

IZAKAYA Munich is designed by Concrete, the award winning Amsterdam design company known for their avant-garde approach. The interior features remarkable black materials and contrasting light oak lamellas, stretching along the ceiling and extending down one wall. Natural materials like wood, leather and marble dominate to create an atmosphere that exudes warm sensuality. The dark, earthy tones form a thrilling counterpart to the polished copper elements. Various seating areas, from the bar to intimate sofa corners, offer space for up to 130 guests. Floating over the big communal table, an essential and reoccurring element within IZAKAYA, is an intricate fish mobile made of natural beech wood.

Time-honoured techniques blend with innovative signatures, with a sophisticated menu of unconventional dishes as the end result. As in all IZAKAYA venues, the traditional Robata grill is at the heart of the restaurant, giving centre stage to the chefs creating dishes like Temari Sushi, Kombujime, Corn Tempura, slow cooked Short Ribs and some Rabata specialities. Besides the specialities of the Robata grill, IZAKAYA has a sophisticated menu of small Sakana dishes and dishes created with the Hibachi fire bowl, a Japanese hot plate, as well as sushi and sashimi seasoned with exotic Peruvian spices. All meant to be shared. And most of all experienced together.

Night owls find their new dream destination at this new concept, a collaboration between the multiple award-winning Roomers Bar and The Entourage Group. The 360° black stained bar with the onyx marble top offers a spot to sip selected wines, first class cocktails as well as rare types of Sake. The bar chefs created a bar menu based on fortified wines - vamped up wines such as vermouth, sake and sherry. Alongside these drinks, IZAKAYA gives a cutting-edge twist to the bar with an array of house-infused tonics with the Japanese Shōchū as the base. IZAKAYA’s Shōchū wall includes a variety of 12 different flavours. IZAKAYA's Asian influenced cocktail menu can also be enjoyed in the Hidden Room.

But there is more to IZAKAYA Munich than meets the eye. The Hidden Room, a room-in-room, directly adjacent to the Roomers Bar. This Hidden Room transports guests back to the 1960’s party scene. The cult of going out and having fun is celebrated again with an array of DJ’s, stunning IZAKAYA events are introduced to Munich’s nightlife scene – perfectly matching the Roomers Munich that feels indolently glamorous, sexy, electrifying and intoxicating. Roomers Munich with its classy design and authentic service is the third Roomers hotel after Frankfurt and Baden-Baden.
