The Carinthian Provincial Museum is the central museum institution in Carinthia, which carries out a public service for the protection of movable cultural heritage in the area of ​​the twelve municipalities of the Carinthian region and connects with the Slovenians in Carinthia in Austria through special programs. Mission and collecting policy are focused in particular on the protection, collection, study, presentation and popularization, the conservation of iron, mining and other technical heritage, ethnological heritage and locally important folk cultures, the collection of artistic and cultural-historical material of older periods with special emphasis on the protection of objects of archaeological heritage and systematic research and upgrading collections of recent history. The museum consists of four units: the Slovenj Gradec Museum, the Ravne Museum in Carinthia, the Dravograd Museum, the Radlje ob Dravi Museum.
