The Kunstmuseum Bern is the oldest art museum in Switzerland with a permanent collection.
Works by Ferdinand Hodler, Paul Klee, Pablo Picasso, Franz Gertsch, Vincent van Gogh and Meret Oppenheim have made the Kunstmuseum Bern an institution of international renown. Contemporary positions are represented by extensive groups of works by Bernhard Luginbühl, Markus Raetz, Urs Lüthi, Dieter Roth or Sigmar Polke. One focus is the art of women like Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Louise Bourgeois and Marina Abramovic.
In addition to the permanent collection, both thematic exhibitions and large solo exhibitions are shown.
