The museum was founded within the framework of the National Monumentary Inspectorate in 1968. The collection preserves the legacy of renowned architects and craftsmen such as Alajos Hauszmann, Miklós Ybl, Imre Steindl, Frigyes Schulek, Ödön Lechner, Miksa Róth, Farkas Molnár, Lajos Kozma, Aladár Árkay and Bertalan, Ernő Foerk, Bierbauer Virgil, Máté Major and Makovecz Imre. The museum mainly collects and presents blueprints, photos, postcards and models.
