The Kapodistrias Museum - Kapodistrian Studies Center was established in 1981 and 1995 "Koukouritsa" was declared a historical monument.

The outstanding personality of Corfiot Count Kapodistrias, first Governor of Greece and senior European diplomat, unfolds in the new Kapodistrias Museum, the "Koukouritsa" Evropouloi, Corfu.

In "Koukouritsa" the family estate with stately Agrepavlis of Kapodistrias in Evropouloi Corfu where he lived Ioannis Kapodistrias in his youth, currently operating in Greece the only museum dedicated to the great Corfiot, Greek, European politician.

The Museum Kapodistrias after three years of renovation and modernization opens its doors to the public in 2016 and aims to become one of the most important benchmark of culture and history of the area.

The new permanent exhibition extends throughout the building presenting authentic objects and artifacts Kapodistrias and his family, and digital objects that enrich the visitor's experience.

The "Koukouritsa", which houses the Kapodistrias Museum, belonged to Kapodistrias family at least since the 18th century until 1979, when Mary Kapodistria- Desylla, great-granddaughter of the youngest brother of Governor and first female Mayor in Greece (Mayor of Corfu, 1956- 1959), donated along with relics of his ancestor and his family of three, historic, cultural institutions of Corfu, the Corfu Reading Society (founded in 1836), the Philharmonic Society of Corfu (founded in 1841) and Kirk Company Rajko Studies (founded in 1952).
