City Museum "F. Rittatore Vonwiller" is hosted in renovated rooms of an ancient communal grain storage; It collects material evidence illustrating the historical development of the Farnese territory, with particular reference to the archaeological sites of the Lamone.

The museum was named after the archaeologist Ferrante Rittatore Vonwiller (1919-1976), to remember a great scholar who tied his research particularly into the Maremma, devoting himself to the history of the population of the Fiora Valley in prehistoric times. The prehistoric and early historic finds, most of which come from the settlement of Sorgenti della Nova, allow to accurately reconstruct the traditions and customs of the inhabitants of this area during the Bronze Age.

The Etruscan-Roman section, recently dedicated archaeologist Incitti Mauro (1954-2004), exhibits artefacts from fortified Rofalco and the nearby necropolis, constituting important evidence of the social and religious life of the Etruscan people from the beginning of the V III century BC, before the Roman conquest of the territory.

The medieval and Renaissance stages of Farnese, the center from which probably originated the mighty namesake family which belonged Pope Paul III (1534-1549), are documented by artifacts found in "wells to throw" that were used as dumps, identified in the center historian. Of great importance painted majolica, as well as precious objects like rosary beads from coral and imported pipe cleaners in Farnese by the Franciscan missions undertaken in North America shortly after the discovery of the New Continent.

Closely related to the museum is the Natural Lamone Forest Reserve, in which a series of pathways allows visitors wonderful excursions along the main natural and archaeological sites in the area, such as the proto-historic findings of the Nova sources, the settlement Etruscan of Rofalco, the tomb of Gottimo and early medieval settlement of Valderico.
