The Cathedral of Lima is considered one of the most emblematic places of Lima. Also called "jewel of colonial architecture", it was built in 1535 on the pre-Hispanic temple, dedicated to the Sun or "Puma Inti", in which it keeps unique and irreplaceable works of art, several of them considered among the oldest in our city .

It has a museum of religious art, wonderful altarpieces made between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries, an exceptional coral seating and a crypt where several of the archbishops of Lima are buried. In one of its chapels, finely decorated with Venetian mosaics, are the remains of the conqueror of Peru and founder of the "City of Kings" as it was called to Lima in colonial times, the Marquis Don Francisco Pizarro.
