The Museum of Prehistory and Early History of the Valle del Fiora River, Manciano (GR), was born in 1985 to illustrate the long history that preceded the appearance of the Etruscan culture in the southern part of the province of Grosseto. The Museum is housed in a building built in the early nineteenth century at the highest point of the village, next to the fortress of Siena era and the landscape that can be enjoyed from its windows is an integral part of the museum, giving way to find playing around many of the archaeological sites whose materials are present in the exhibition.
The path inside the museum is divided into six rooms that trace the age of prehistory from the Paleolithic period, 500,000 years ago, until the beginning of the Iron Age (IX century BC), with the support of audiovisual and multimedia.
