Museu Mazzaropi

The Mazzaropi Museum was created in 1992 by João Roman Júnior as a way to pay homage to the old friend and Brazilian filmmaker. The long-standing friendship had as its meeting point the serenades inside São Luiz do Paraitinga, which included composer Elpídio dos Santos, creator of songs for Mazzaropi's films, and conductor Fêgo Camargo (father of the presenter of TV Hebe Camargo). At that time, no one would have imagined that years after Mazzaropi's death, the PAM Filmes studios would be bought by João Roman Júnior, where the Mazzaropi® Hotel now exists. The children of João Roman Júnior continue the work of rescue and divulgation of the work of Mazzaropi believing in the importance of the preservation of the memory of this personage of Brazilian cinema. In the collection there are over 20,000 items among photos, films, documents, scenic objects, furniture and equipment that "count" much of the artist's career. The museum is open to public visitors from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and constantly promotes the attendance of students from schools interested in learning more about the history of national cinema.
