Museumshof Kammern

The Museumshof Kammern bears witness to a 200-year-old agricultural history and presents life in the coal and mining industry as well as in agriculture. The 125-year-old barn, which is extremely remarkable for its architectural design, exhibits large objects such as heavy threshing machines, various scythes, sickles and flails, as well as original hay, milk and coal cribs. These devices are embedded in a breathtaking museum architecture consisting of an unprecedented ensemble of glass and wood.

The history of the Kammerner population is centered around the outbuilding, the Steinrisserhaus. This gives insights into the development of the market community and shows the important role of chambers in the extraction of raw materials.

The Museumshof is completed by a special exhibition of 500 million years of geological history. 400 fossils exhibited (shells, corals, shark teeth, etc.) reflect the evolution of living things on our planet. They are impressive documents of our evolution.

Museum Association "Friends of the Museumshof Kammern"

Committed Kammerner citizens have made it their mission to accompany the museum gem in its development and the Museum Association launched. It organizes numerous cultural events every year, from readings to concerts and workshops to museum festivals. In addition, the members are responsible for the changing special exhibitions.
