The shipping company Hotell was built by shipowner Andrew S. Glastad in 1958 as headquarters of A / S Mosvolds Rederi, a shipping company originally started by Martin Mosvold in 1910. The building was designed by the famous architect Thilo Schoder, who was active in southern Norway in this period.

Forty years later, in 1998, Mosvolds Shipping Company moved to new offices at Gåseholmen in Farsund, and the old building was sold and converted to a hotel with 12 guest rooms.

In 2008, the Glastad family bought back the hotel building and has launched an extensive upgrade program - including opening of a la carte restaurant in newly refurbished premises.

Nabobygget, called Reymert's house, was also purchased in 2008. This is one of Farsund's oldest buildings, in which the Reymert family has lived for several generations. In spring 2010 the upper floor was rebuilt and another 5 guest rooms were added to the Company Company. Today the hotel has 2 suites, 2 Jr. Suites, 3 family rooms and 10 single / double rooms.

The two buildings of the hotel represent their story of important era for Farsund; The Reymert house dates back to the era of Cape Cod and White Sail, while the main building is a symbol of the great seasons of motorized shipping in Farsund.
