Teater Exit

Exit Theater was formed to create a space for theater practitioners and enthusiasts with multicultural backgrounds to share their experiences and create new work.

The workshop / studio began in 2012 as a pilot project in collaboration with Nordic Black Theater. The group's first production, "Entanglements", loosely based on a play by J.C. Grumberg, premiered at the Café Theater in May 2013.

In 2013/2014, we presented "Gasoline High", written in collaboration with the Macedonian writer Yasminka Markovska. The project was a collaboration between Exit, Nordic Black Theater and Dramatikkens Hus. Since the autumn of 2015 the group has been working on a version of «Roberto Zucco» by Bernard-Marie Koltès.

The group is led by Renata Aleksejunaite Christensen. Renata is a former student of Nordic Black Theater and has many years of experience as an actor, director and project manager.

Under rehearsals vi ser frem til en serie av fungerende teknikker, og arbeider med både tale og bevegelse. "Everyday routines" is a key starting point for our work while improvisation forms a major part of the process.

The idea behind the formation of Theater Exit was to create a place for creative work and exchange of experiences.

In 2012, this was conducted as a pilot project in collaboration with the Nordic Black Theater as an offer for theater-intensive adults with multicultural backgrounds. We presented the performance "Developments" freely done after J.C. Grumberg, premiere May 2013 at the Cafeteria Theater.

In 2013/2014 we presented the performance "Gasoline High", which was written in collaboration with the Macedonian writer Yasminka Markovska. Production was a collaboration between Exit, Nordic Black Theater and Dramatics House. Since autumn 2015, the group has worked with a version of "Roberto Zucco" by Bernard-Marie Koltès.

During the exercises we explore different actor techniques, working with voice and motion. «Everyday routines» are one of the basics of our work. Improvisation is a major part of the process.
