The construction of the State Theater was the result of the concern of Lic. Antonio M. Quirasco, Constitutional Governor of the State, to contribute to the development of the intellectual, artistic and cultural life of Veracruz. This was projected and realized by the Architect Pablo Boeck, built between 1959 and 1962.


The State Theater was founded on the 1st. January 1962 and was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Lic. Adolfo López Mateos, on November 20 of the same year.
