Theater Matte

In the summer of 2009, Livia Anne Richard and Markus Maria Enggist were asked by members of the Baugenossenschaft Bern if they knew someone who might be interested in a theater. A quarter of an hour later, Richard and Enggist were in the hall at the Mattenenge 1, which was still used by the parish Nydegg. Since the parish gave up their premises on the Mattenge 1, a lot of space was freed up.   Richard and Enggist calculated, tested and considered and founded the association Theater Matte together with Annemarie Morgenegg, Hank Shizzoe and Fredi Stettler in November 2009.   On March 1, 2010, the team moved into the premises and began rebuilding. Fredi Stettler led the conversion and gave the rooms the right "touch".   On the 22nd of October 2010 the time had come and the doors of the rooms radiating a new charm opened the doors for the first time. The theater mat was opened.   Since then, four to five plays have been shown each year. Always in dialect, never empty, always with heart, mind and the necessary portion of humor.
