Vantaan kaupunginmuseo

Vantaa City Museum is an expert in cultural heritage and cultural environment. The museum collects, preserves, examines and presents the history of Vantaa area from prehistory to the present day.

The museum is located at Tikkurila's old railway station. Completed in 1862, the oldest brick station building in Finland was designed by Carl Albert Edelfelt. The building was a railway station until 1978. The museum's first exhibition was opened at the station in 1990.

The museum exhibits changing exhibitions. In 2016, the 10,000-year history of Vantaa will be introduced along the rivers at the River Joki - Stone Age to the Rocks. The exhibition of the anniversary of the independence of Finland in 2017 is the state of love - the runway of emotions.

The exhibition will host a free public guide every first Wednesday of the month. Exhibition guides for groups by arrangement.

The museum sells literature, gift items and products related to exhibitions on Vantaa themes. The museum shop is open during the opening hours of the exhibition.
