Artothèque de Caen

The Art Rental Collection Contemporary Art Space, located at the Ducal Palace in September 2013, now has more than 2,400 representative works of contemporary art regional, national and international in the late 50's to today. Through a loan system similar to that of a library, these works circulate daily among each other, in homes, offices, schools, businesses and hospitals, vocation ranging indeed rather on the side the movement and the life of the Heritage side.

A public collection shared by hundreds of citizens in the privacy of their private life or their workplaces. A collection subjected to the test of the gaze and the use made of the one and the other. A nomad collection, which constantly required adaptability allows it to exist in circumstances and places as unexpected and varied. A use value for collection on the whole, in perpetual construction since it grows each year with new acquisitions.
