Founded in 1871, the library is installed since 1969 in the Hotel de Lamoignon, raised in the late 16th century. Its collections, available only on site, consist of books and journals, manuscripts, maps, photographs, drawings, prints, posters, postcards, concerning the history of Paris and Ile de France, but also the theater (Association for Theatre Board, etc.), literature (Michelet, Sand, Apollinaire, Cocteau, etc.) and feminism (Marie-Louise Bougie).
