The name "Collien" has been known since the thirties for great concert management. Kurt Collien founded in 1932 the legendary concert director Collien, with whom he brought stars like Maria Callas and Marlene Dietrich to Germany. Among other things, he ran the Grock Circus, the Theater am Besenbinderhof and the Hamburger Operettenhaus. In 1970, he also took over the management of the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg. Michael Collien, his son, joined in 1958 in the concert directorate, which he directed from 1981. For decades, together with his father, he brought world stars from all branches of the show business to Germany and especially to Hamburg theaters, for example Zarah Leander, The Beatles, Bill Haley, jazz legends like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mahalia Jackson, or the classic Giuseppe di Stefano and Anna Moffo. In the third generation, in 1987 Thomas Collien joined the company. Since 2001 he has been the sole director of the "Family House" St. Pauli Theater, since 2003 together with his partner Ulrich Waller; Since January 2009 he has been playing the famous Hansa Varieté Theater with Waller. For 26 years he has been in charge of tours, productions and co-productions of international shows, such as »The Bar at Buena Vista«, or »Rock the Ballet«, the music revue »Hot Times«, or in coproduction with Stage Entertainment the Udo Lindenberg musical »Behind the Horizon« as well as various theater productions.

In 1998, Thomas Collien founded his own company Collien Konzert und Theater GmbH in addition to his commitment to the "family business", with which he produces and markets productions primarily in the show area. Thomas Collien benefits from decades of contacts with the international show and entertainment industry. He brings entertainment formats, whether cabaret or comedy productions as well as dance and music shows and theater productions on various stages. In 2008, Oliver Oehrlein joined the company as a shareholder, having been a member of the Managing Board since 2002.

Collien Konzert & Theater GmbH produces and tours international shows such as Tango Pasión, The Bar at Buena Vista, Born to Samba, Bollywood - The Show, Lady Salsa, TAO, Rock the Ballet "," Tap Stars "," Romeo and Juliet "or" The 27 Club ". Many of these productions celebrated Germany premiere in their hometown of Hamburg and traveled around the world from there.
