Galleria Regionale d'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Spazzapan

Born from the happy meeting of collectors, critics, artists and representatives of the institutions that have believed in the possibility of achieving in Gradisca a big cultural project, the gallery was set up by the autonomous Tourism Gradisca-Redipuglia by deed dated December 30, 1974, approved by the Friuli Venezia Giulia with the decree of March 1, 1975. In 2009 an agreement was signed for the joint management of the gallery between the Province of Gorizia, Gradisca d'Isonzo, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of Gorizia. The combined efforts of the three managing bodies has allowed for a radical restructuring of the exhibition spaces, which were expanded and made more versatile, perfect to host contemporary art. Gallery's primary task is to enhance the figure and work of Luigi Spazzapan, whose name embodies the values ​​of research, the vanguard, opening towards a broader international comparison. In this perspective the gallery, over the years, he paid tribute with exhibitions and catalogs to almost all major regional artists of the late twentieth century, helping to create a bibliography of this period from which you can not ignore
