A few steps from the Roman Forum in the popular Monti district, was inaugurated at the end of '93 the Francisco Cordoba Gallery, a Central American artist who for over fifteen years living and working in Italy. The feature that strikes the visitor upon entering the gallery's architectural space, where you can breathe, in its entirety, the ancient history of Rome caput mundi. The foundations of the imperial era are mixed stones in tufa and the arches of the later periods. In a short time the gallery becomes a cultural point of reference for many artists, eager to experience the paths of creation outside of individualistic patterns and the logic of the market. Thus it was born in the Cenacle spontaneously formed in the cultural association gallery "utopia ...". The goal is to promote a new dialogue between artists, valuing the different souls of creativity overcoming divisions, but on the contrary, starting from the minimum common denominator of acceptance of diversity and the fight against all forms of discrimination and disruptions in society. And just to respond to the violence and desolation images that come from the former Yugoslavia, in May of '94, is held the first initiative of the association, the joint, "Winds of Peace" included among the events for the Biennial of Sarajevo, held outside the battered city. Already this experience meet poetry, painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture: a sign that art always has a thousand ways to express themselves and even a thousand worlds to explore. Since then "utopia ..." has promoted, with the support of the highest Italian and foreign institutions, a number of initiatives, both inside and outside the Córdoba gallery: solo shows of young artists or already known; collective poetry, painting, photographs; and yet, book presentations, conferences and meetings. A media path that has aroused great interest and enthusiasm in both the artists involved and the public, from the site-specific installation "Wonder" created by the figure of Frederick II of Swabia and promoted by the Association for the 54th Biennial of Art in Venice .
