Katos Kallion kesäteatterifestivaali

The three-day festival brings together a multitude of amateur theater assemblies. The festival will diversify and renew the Finnish summer theater tradition and bring it to Kallio, the heart of Helsinki's urban culture.

Katos! Performers combine homelessness. There are many expressive groups in Helsinki that make an artistically ambitious theater without their own facilities. The festival offers an open-air stage for this lively and multi-faceted theater maker. The festival supports the recycling of performances because many performances disappear too quickly from the public. However, the Katos! Festival also sees a new and unique one.

The festival's event space is a selected tent - a symbol of walking, sheltering and gathering - which acts as a safe and customizable roof for cinemas and audiences accustomed to many venues.

The event will be hosted by Orange Dog Theater in cooperation with other homeless theater groups. The implementation of the Festari network will be made possible by the Harju Youth Hostel, whose site and technical support will be used to organize the event.

The event is open to everyone and provides space for open-minded encounters between performers and the public.
