Limbažu muzejs

Exhibition hall and history exhibition of the Limbaz Museum is located in the 19th century. The exposition "City, Region, Sea" and the exposition "Baumanni Karl and His Time" dedicated to the author of the hymn of the Republic of Latvia, "The City, the Region, the Sea" dedicated to the history of Limbazis and its surroundings, is presented at the beginning of the new Riga Castle building, or in the Palace manor manager building at Burtnieku iela 7. In two interchangeable exhibition halls, museum guests regularly enjoy traveling, museum art or art exhibitions devoted to a variety of topics. Visitors to the museum are also expected to visit the craft products and city souvenir shop "Saloniņš". It is interesting to see the nearby Limbaži medieval castle ruins that are historically important, as the castle was once one of the harbors of the Archbishopric of Riga. The castle gate tower is the only one in Latvia, where the entrance portal has retained unique gates with slip-up structures. During the summer period (beginning of April - the end of October), visitors to the museum also have the opportunity to see the observation tower of the Limbaži city from the nearby castle ruins. The city's guests are also invited to see the collection of technical devices in the stockbase opened in the Limbaz Museum, located in the 19th century. In the second half of the former Limbazi voluntary firefighters' association depot on Torņa street 3, you will also have the opportunity to get a glimpse of the glazed floor of the depot tower and the view from the top of the old city!
