Housed in a mansion built in Renaissance style in 1590, the Heritage Museum and Alsatian Judaism Marmoutier present witnesses objects of rural life in Alsace in the 18th and 19th centuries: furniture, costumes, ceramics, religious and secular images .. . the interior features reconstructions (Stube, kitchen, cellar with wine press and still) and craft workshops (cooper, stonemason, blacksmith) punctuate the museum. From the Middle Ages, a Jewish community settled in Marmoutier, whose presence is particularly evidenced by a ritual bath (Miqweh) created in the 18th century in the house. This page of history has resulted in a space where Jewish culture is presented by religious artefacts (Torah mantles, Rimmonim, Yad, of holy cabinet curtains ...) and works by Jewish artists such that Alphonse Levy.
