Museum Fürstenfeldbruck

In 1991, 25 years ago, the Fürstenfeldbruck Museum was opened in the former brewery and Pfisterei of Fürstenfeld Monastery with a modern, museum-like presentation on the theme of "Fürstenfeld Monastery". In 1995 the next collections followed with the section "Life in Bruck um 1900" and the presentation of archeology in 2001 and 2005. Since 2013, the museum presents its department on monastic history in terms of content and design in a new guise.  

With the opening of the museum in 1991 ended a long and varied history, which began in 1904 with the Historical District Museum, the committed citizens of the ranks of the Historical Association Fürstenfeldbruck founded. The impending loss of the museum and the idea that there must be a cultural memory of the city and the region finally led in 1979 to the political decision to protect the preserved collections of the association by the sponsorship of the city in the long term legally and financially and the "Stadtmuseum Fürstenfeldbruck " to install. In 2013, the municipal institution was renamed "Museum Fürstenfeldbruck".

The object of the current museum is based on the collections of the founding fathers of arts and crafts from the monastery Fürstenfeld and the district of Fürstenfeldbruck, archaeological and folklore objects and evidence of craft from the region before 1900.

The museum's current collection concept, in addition to the expansion of the property portfolio from the former Fürstenfeld Abbey, focuses on the documentation of the works of noteworthy Fürstenfeldbruck and local artists and artisans of the 19th and 20th centuries.
