Muzeum im. ks. Stanisława Staszica w Hrubieszowie

The Hrubieszów Museum was established in 1965 on the initiative of Hrubieszów regionalists. In the first period it was called the Museum of the Hrubieszów Region of the Hrubieszów Regional Society. In October 1966, it was nationalized, and from June 1972 to October 1999 it functioned as a branch of the Regional Museum in Zamość. Since October 1999, the institution has changed its status and is a county institution, named after the. Fr.. St. Staszic in Hrubieszów. The first building of the Museum was a non-existent tenement house at the current ul. 3rd May. From June 1972, the baroque-classicist manor of Du Chateau, one of the most representative buildings of the city, became a permanent residence. Since December 1984, permanent exhibitions have been made available in the renovated interiors, including the region's history, the history of the town and its surroundings, the history of the Hrubieszów Agricultural Society, Hrubieszów folk art and art including the paintings by Paweł Gajewski.
