The museum is housed in part of the preserved city fortifications from 14-16. century building with a baroque hall dating from 1690-1693. A permanent exhibition of Komenský humanity, dedicated to the life and work of a prominent native, is complemented by an exhibition of regional history and ethnography called the Antiquities of Uherskobrodska. Apart from these expositions, the museum manages the ethnographic exhibition of the Farm House and the Farm in Vlčnov. Those interested can also visit a number of short-term thematic exhibitions prepared according to the annual exhibition plan. Part of the museum is also an extensive library with significant regional and comeniological literature. Twenty a year is published a journal for comeniology, history 16-18. century and regional history of Comenius et historica. The activity of the museum is furthermore presented mainly by organizing short-term exhibitions, lectures, Teachers' Day celebrations, organizing international comeniological colloquia since 1971 and organizing MUSAIONFILM - an annual non-competition show of videofilms of Czech museums. In the field of comeniology, the museum also cooperates closely on the basis of a contract concluded on December 1, 2004 with the J. A. Komensky Museum in Naarden.
