Muzeum Przyrodnicze ISEZ PAN

The Natural History Museum of the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow comes from the Physiographic Commission of the Cracow Scientific Society, which was established in 1865. Initially, the collection was collected in a building on Św. Anna, and in 1870 they were transferred to the building of the Academy of Skills at ul. Sławkowska 17. In 1992 ISEZ PAN purchased the historic building of the former "Roman Bath" at ul. St. Sebastiana 9, exclusively for the new seat of the Museum of Natural History.

     In the collection of the Museum there is a unique, about 30 thousand. The hairy rhinoceros found in Starunia in the Eastern Carpathians. The Museum also provides large collections of vertebrates, invertebrates, mineralogical, paleontological and archaeological collections, which collect more than 2 million specimens.

     The Museum of Natural History has 11 exhibition rooms and an audiovisual room for the organization of scientific conferences.
