The Renitenztheater was founded in 1961 by Gerhard Woyda making it Stuttgart oldest cabaret stage. is headed home since 2004 by Sebastian Weingarten. Since the move in October 2010, the Renitenztheater accommodate 260 visitors. Directly connected to the theater is the Italian restaurant La Commedia.

In the far-reaching cabaret landscape the Renitenztheater one of the most prestigious houses in the German-speaking countries and may in its past and present in great moments alongside artists of Gert Fröbe, Georg Kreisler and Helmut Qualtinger about Mathias Richling, Thomas Friday Reiner Kröhnert, Emil Steinberger, Dieter Hildebrandt Thomas Friday Ottfried Fischer, Romy Haag, Desirée Nick, Hagen Rether, Kurt Kroemer and Bülent Ceylan refer.
