Teatrul Odeon

The Odeon Theater is a repertory theater founded in 1946. It is located in the current location in the center of Bucharest - in a magnificent historic monument building (which celebrated its centenary in 2011) since 1974. It is a public subsidized cultural institution by the General Council of the City Hall of Bucharest. It has two showrooms - Majestic Hall with a capacity of 300 seats and Studio Hall (reopened after 62 years in 2010) with a capacity of about 120 seats. His permanent artistic team comprises 35 actors, 2 directors, a set designer and a choreographer. Apart from our shows, we invite you to our alternative programs: Theater and School, Dance at Odeon, Classic is fantastic - Childhood of great musicians, odeon.art (with annual editions dedicated to a different culture), exhibitions organized by the Odeon Gallery along with the danaartgallery. Odeon Theater is very open to international projects: You live parallel - 20th Century through the eyes of secret police, Hunger for trade and Fabulamundi. Playwriting Europe, along with partners from Slovakia, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, and so on.
