Founded in 1995 by Philippe Saire, the Theatre Sévelin 36 - aims at the development and recognition of contemporary dance within the local and regional cultural landscape. Initially permanent residence of the Philippe Saire Company, the Theatre quickly begins its promotion of contemporary dance activities through three main areas: • dissemination / reception contemporary dance in the contemporary dance festival - The Spring Sévelin - which takes place every year in March. • supporting local artists through artist residencies, studio of welcomes and The Quarter Time, a research platform for the first choreographic projects. The continuing education of artists is also encouraged through a program of courses for professionals. • Cultural Mediation: vital bridge Theatre activities Sévelin 36 to a public constantly renewed mediation contributes to the artistic and cultural education of the public. The Theatre offers 36 Sévelin discovery of dance projects in all its facets, off-the-wall and inside the theater walls. The main public are: education (from primary to higher education), association, community, dance lovers, etc.
