Idea: Founded in early 2017, Traumschüff geG is the first non-profit theater cooperative in Germany. It is a traveling theater especially for rural areas and deals with the perspectives and themes of each region. The mobile touring platform is a catamaran built by students of the Bauhaus University Weimar. At the Traumschüff, the theater in the river, the name says it all: Here the theater takes place on the water. Our catamaran becomes a stage, while the crowd makes it comfortable on the shore. Mobile and without a fixed location we see ourselves as a platform for encounters and exchanges - with which we reach those places in rural areas where there is no theater otherwise.
The Schüff: The "Schüff" - the catamaran - is our stage and at the same time means of transport as well as accommodation for the participants. It has slidable walls that allow for flexible stage designs for plays and create spaces of varying sizes. On an area of 12 x 4.5 meters on the lower deck as well as on the upper deck, the "Schüff" is playable all around. Students of the Bauhaus University Weimar designed and built the structure in the summer semester 2017, ie the "house". Substructure and floats were manufactured in the Kiebitzberg shipyard in Havelberg. The Traumschüff was christened "Comrade Rosi" on July 29, 2017. In the energy supply, the Energy Seminar of the Technical University of Berlin supports us and installed solar cells with which we can generate electricity. Even a wind turbine is still planned.
We want to bring together people and opinions that would otherwise not meet with the dream boy - build bridges, for a diversity in diversity. We value eye-level and invite everyone to join in and play games.
