Holland on the Zaan

In the Zaans Museum, with the Verkade Experience, you meet the Zaankanters and tells the story that the Dutch-Dutch panorama of the Zaanse Schans was told. The Zaans Museum is located in a unique location on the Zaanse Schans, against the beautiful Kalverpolder decor. On the Zaanse Schans you will find the world-famous old Zaanse woodworking with beautiful merchandise houses, green Zaanse houses, windmills, wooden houses and warehouses. The Zaanse Schans Information Center is located in the Zaans Museum. The Zaans Museum, a meeting place and the museum for visitors who want to know the Zaan region. The permanent exhibition casts a surprising look at the beautiful collection and stories about the Zaanstreek then, now and afterwards. With the refurbishment, the new Zaans Museum offers a complete museum, where both the Zaankanter and the domestic and foreign tourists meet the rich cultural, historical and industrial history of the beautiful Zaanstreek.

The 'Zaans Spektakel' brings the presentation to life and makes the visitor 'feel' the mills, the factories and the hard work. At the portrait gallery and the narrative table, you get to know the Zaankanter and finally, in the exhibition 'Typisch Zaans' is a modern interpretation given to the exhibition 'Zaanlandsche Oudheden en Merkwaardigheden', as seen in the town hall in the town hall in Zaandam in 1874 used to be. The Verkade Paviljoen, in the decor of a working factory, seams seamlessly.
