Another entry on the Algarve Beach Encyclopedia, making sure you don't miss any of the great beaches of this incredible region of Portugal! As usual, you can see the list of sandstrips below, and the highlights of a few particularly great spots that are must-sees. This is the second part on the Lagoa parish sandstrips.
The tall cliffs of this side of the Lagoa coast offer accessible, beautiful beaches and also marine caves and creeks that delight those who pass by boat or take the seaside trails. There is a little bit of every kind of beach here, from the summer favourites Carvoeiro and Benagil to the untouched and wild, pebble-filled Cama da Vaca and Vale Espinhaço. But they all offer those great calm and warm waters of Algarve!
Praia do Padre Vicente
The peaceful Praia do Padre Vicente sits enclosed by large cliffs and provides the same calm seas of Algarve in a wilder, mostly unknown sandstrip. Getting here is not easy however, as you must come by sea. If you manage to do that though, you will find an untouched refuge that is sure to delight you for its natural beauty and tranquility!

The truly paradisiacal Praia do Paraíso is located inside a circular cove in the coastal cliffs, providing the sandstrip with incredible pool-like clear waters. A cobblestone stairway descends allong the cliff and offers fantastic views of the place. At the base of the cliffs, a few rock formations make up for the small sandstrip, although the whole area is not very big. This is instead a secluded marvel that will surely reward those who discover it!
Praia do Carvoeiro
Praia do Carvoeiro is a summer favourite, located by the village that gives it its name. This beach is a tranquil sandstrip with easy accesses and, sitting right next to town, its easy to find other activities around. There are places you can visit, like the Nossa Senhora da Encarnação fort, or you can admire the seaside views from the trails atop the cliff. Also, this is one of the places where you can rent a boat and go on a coastline trip to discover the hidden creeks of the area. Don't miss out on that chance!
